Is it working? Coca Cola’s unique marketing strategy to put names on bottles might just be the punch that rises above those adorable polar bears and the well-known mantra: “have a coke and a smile” (for those of you who are old like me).
Something as “simple” as personalizing the most popular names forever on plastic has made the campaign fun and interactive for consumers. It encourages “sharing” amongst the consumer’s social groups and provides a fun reason to go check out that soda aisle at the store. This campaign has all the components for a successful campaign that uses social media to engage and reward the end user.
Coke even publishes a list of names
that are out there and available. Do you know which shelf your name is hiding on? (For the record, I haven’t found mine yet).
